New Releases 4/15: SANTANA, KEB’ MO’, DEL MCCOURY BAND & More…

This week is the kind I love, because it is full of amazing potential albums to review, from names like Santana, Keb’ Mo’, PJ Harvey, Graham Nash, Sturgil Simpson and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. The Del McCoury Band is releasing “Del & Woody”, which features songs that were penned by Woody Guthrie and put to music by Del and the boys. Iron & Wine’s Sam Beam along with Jesca Hoop are releasing “Love Letter For Fire”. Ministry’s Al Jorgensen will be dropping the self-titled album from his recent project, Surgical Meth Machine. Besides these well-known artists, bluegrass veterans, the Hackensaw Boys will put out a fresh album on Friday and the newer duo The Lowest Pair, will release two seperate, full-length albums. Electronic-jam-rock pioneers, Future Rock will drop “Long Ago”, which is their first new album in a few years. If all of these releases aren’t enough, the conscious hip-hop stylings of Lyrics Born are completely on display on his greatest hits album titled “Now Look What You’ve Done, Lyrics Born”, also coming out on Friday.

  • Ashley Shadow- “Ashley Shadow”
  • Brad Cole- “Lay It Down”
  • Del McCoury Band- “Del & Woody”
  • East Of Venus- “Memory Box”
  • Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros- “Person A”
  • Future Rock- “Long Ago”
  • Graham Nash- “This Path Tonight”
  • Hackensaw Boys- “Charismo”
  • Joe Mullin & The Radio Ramblers- “Sacred Memories”
  • Keb’ Mo’- “That Hot Pink Blues Album”
  • Kevin Morby- “Singing Saw”
  • Lyrics Born- “Now Look What You’ve Done, Lyrics Born: Greatest Hits”
  • Offwhyte- “Dialogue”
  • PJ Harvey- “The Hope Six Demolition Project”
  • Sam Beam & Jesca Hoop- “Love Letter For Fire”
  • Santana- “Santana IV”
  • Sturgil Simpson- “A Sailor’s Guide To Earth”
  • Surgical Meth Machine- “Surgical Meth Machine”
  • The Lowest Pair- “Fern Girl & Ice Man”
  • The Lowest Pair- “Uncertain As It Is Uneven”

This is your outstanding list of new album releases for April 15. It is going to be quite difficult to pick just one for a review, but I will gladly make the difficult decision, with a smile planted firmly on my face. Check-back on Saturday to see which album grabs my ear the hardest and to read the review. That’s What I Know, So That’s What You Know!!
