This is most, and certainly the best, of the live music to hear along the Front Range, next week. There are some national acts like Soulive, Glen Hansard and Greensky Bluegrass coming to the area, while local darlings Polytoxic, The Yawpers and Danielle Ate The Sandwich have been maintaining Colorado’s high level of music credibility, all over the place. As is the norm, I have marked the shows I recommend with an * after the venue’s name. Though the weather is getting colder, it is hard to deny your ears the opportunity to catch some of the incredible music in the area, next week. That’s What I Know, So That’s What You Know!! Enjoy!!

New Releases 9/04: IRON MAIDEN, THE ARCS, AGAINST ME! & More…

This week’s list of new releases is not extensive, but there are some big names with albums coming out this week. With acts like Iron Maiden, Against Me!, Public Image Ltd. and John Mayall putting out material the drought conditions are improving. Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys has an album out with a side-project called The Arcs, that was supposedly, Grateful Dead inspired. And, of course, there are other lesser-known acts that will have new albums out this Friday, and you never know when there might be a diamond in the ruff.

  • Against Me!- “23 Live Sex Acts”
  • Dam-Funk- “Invite The Light”
  • Dan Bern- “Hoody”
  • Fidlar- “Too”
  • Flux Pavilion- “Tesla”
  • Iron Maiden- “The Book Of Souls”
  • James Leg- “Below The Belt”
  • John Mayall- “Find A Way To Care”
  • Lou Barlow- “Brace The Wave”
  • Once Human- “The Life I Remember”
  • Painted Fish- “Painted Fish”
  • Painted Palms- “Horizons”
  • Public Image Ltd.- “What The World Needs Now”
  • The Arcs- “Yours Dreamily”
  • The Dear Hunter- “Act IV: Rebirth In Reprise”
  • The Night Owls- “Fame Sessions”
  • WSTR- “SCRWD”

Having sampled these new releases that are coming out on Friday, I can safely say that it won’t be hard to find one to review. As usual, I will choose one of these new releases and will write a review on that album. Check-back on Saturday to read the review. That’s What I Know, So That’s What You Know!! Enjoy!!
