Welcome to Our Musical Journey, where the best sounds are always heard. I’m here to provide editorials, reviews, setlists and information on music along the Front Range and beyond.
By having this site, I am hardly saying my musical tastes are better than anyone else’s, rather that my tastes are so varied that I would love to share music with other open-minded audiophiles on a larger scale than just word of mouth.
I have seen several hundred shows over the last 23 years or so. I have seen music in a library basement, a boathouse, a dry cleaner’s basement, backyards, bars, garages, along the Mississippi, in theatres, in stadiums, auditoriums, amphitheatres, etc.
I have also seen some of the best acts in the world; Prince, Peter Gabriel, The Grateful Dead, Widespread Panic, Phish, CSNY, Bob Dylan, Earl Scruggs, James Brown, Pink Floyd, Jerry Lee Lewis, B.B. King, and Metallica, to name a few.
Although I am very happy to have seen some of the bigger names in music, I am also into the many acts that are fighting the good fight out on the road in cramped vans and buses, living on gas station fare and fast food. Some of my favorites are the New Mastersounds, Toubab Krewe, Monophonics, Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band, Rubblebucket, MarchFourth Marching Band, Euforquestra, Tony Furtado and the list goes on and on.
I listen to most genres of music to some degree including blues, rock, jam, classic rock, alternative, independent, folk, jazz, bluegrass, world, hip-hop, punk, heavy metal, 80’s, country, showtunes, and gospel. Probably left something out. Again this isn’t to brag or boast, just statement of fact.
I hope you will join me often for daily posts on the not-so-mainstream music that mainly remains unheard by the masses, yet devoured by honest ears. Here’s to attempting to satiate that hunger. 😉 Enjoy !!!
